When to Use Manual Order Creation
Not every customer places orders through your web storefront. Shoppers frequently message on WhatsApp, call your shop directly, or order via Instagram DM. StoreYug's Create Order feature allows you to record these sales quickly.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Open Create Order Page: In your dashboard sidebar, go to Orders and click the + Create Order button in the top right corner.
- Select or Create Customer: Search for an existing customer by phone number or name, or enter new customer details (name, contact number, full delivery address, city, state, and 6-digit pincode).
- Add Products & Variants: Select products from your catalog. Choose specific variant sizes, colors, or weights and specify quantities. Unit prices and live shelf stock are loaded automatically.
- Select Payment Method: Choose how the customer will pay:
• Cash: Automatically sets the order as Postpaid (COD / Pay on Delivery). This routes the order into the 5-stage pipeline (Placed → Confirmed → Packed → Shipped → Delivered).
• UPI / Card / Bank Transfer: Automatically marks the order as Prepaid. This places the order into the 6-stage pipeline (Placed → Confirmed → Paid → Packed → Shipped → Delivered). - Click "Create Order": StoreYug generates a unique receipt number, reserves stock in inventory, and creates the order in the Placed status.
Adding Shipping Charges After Creation
When an order is created manually, shipping charges are initialized at ₹0 and the order sits in the Placed stage. You configure courier shipping fees in the very next step:
- Open the newly created order in Orders.
- Click Update Status → Mark Confirmed.
- The confirmation modal opens displaying current shipping. Enter the courier delivery charge (e.g.
₹80.00) or leave as0for free delivery. StoreYug recalculates the total payable amount automatically. - Click Save & Confirm. The order advances to Confirmed, ready for payment verification (if Prepaid) or packing (if COD).
✅ Instant WhatsApp Confirmation: Once created and confirmed, you can click the WhatsApp icon on the order details page to send the buyer a pre-filled confirmation message with a direct link to their bill.
