Why Confirm Orders?
When an order is placed online by a customer, it enters your dashboard in the Placed state. Confirming the order signals that your store has reviewed the items, verified the delivery pincode, and accepted the order for fulfillment.
Adjusting Shipping Charges on Confirmation
Courier shipping rates often vary depending on parcel weight, package dimensions, or remote delivery locations. StoreYug allows you to review and set the exact shipping charge before confirming the order.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Open Orders: Go to Orders from your sidebar and locate the order marked with the blue Placed badge.
- Open Order Details: Click on the order to view the items, customer contact, and delivery address.
- Click "Update Status → Mark Confirmed": Click the primary Mark Confirmed option in the action bar or click the Confirmed step on the timeline stepper.
- Enter / Adjust Shipping Fee: The confirmation modal appears displaying current charges. Enter the final courier charge (e.g.
₹70.00) or leave as0for free shipping. StoreYug recalculates the total payable amount automatically. - Click "Save & Confirm": The order status transitions to Confirmed.
What Happens Next? (The Two Fulfillment Paths)
Once an order is Confirmed, StoreYug guides your next action based on payment terms:
- For Prepaid Orders: The next action button is Mark Paid. The system expects you to verify receipt of the customer's UPI or bank payment before proceeding to packing.
- For Postpaid / COD Orders: The next action button is directly Mark Packed. Because payment is collected at the doorstep, you can start boxing the items right away.
Double-Deduction Protection
Because StoreYug reserves stock the moment an order is Placed (to prevent storefront overselling), confirming the order does not deduct stock a second time. StoreYug's built-in safeguard recognizes that units are already accounted for in the stock ledger.
