How does in-store POS Billing work?

What is POS Billing?

StoreYug includes a built-in Point of Sale (POS) Billing terminal designed for rapid checkout at your physical retail counter. It allows cashiers to scan barcodes, apply instant discounts, accept split payments, automatically dispatch digital bills via WhatsApp, and auto-sync inventory in real time — completely paperless and without needing thermal receipt hardware.

Step-by-Step Counter Checkout

1. Open POS Billing: From the seller dashboard sidebar, click on POS Billing.
2. Add Items to Cart: Search for products by typing the product title or scanning physical barcode/SKU tags. Click the item variant to add it to the active cart. Real-time stock counts are visible on each item.
3. Select or Add Customer: Type the customer's mobile number or name to link an existing customer profile. If a mobile number is entered, StoreYug uses it to send the digital invoice link. If the buyer prefers anonymity, keep the default Walk-in Customer selected.
4. Adjust Quantities & Discounts: Increase or decrease unit quantities in the cart. You can apply an extra flat discount (e.g. ₹100 off) or percentage discount directly to the bill.
5. Select Payment Method: Choose how the customer is paying:
   • Cash: Enter cash tendered and view exact change to return.
   • UPI: Display dynamic UPI QR code for instant phone scanning.
   • Card / Bank Transfer: Record card machine or direct transfer payments.
   • Split Payment: Split the total across multiple methods (e.g. ₹500 in Cash + ₹1,200 via UPI).
6. Complete Checkout: Click Complete Sale / Pay. StoreYug creates the sale, immediately marks it as Delivered, and deducts the inventory.
7. Instant WhatsApp Invoice Link: If the customer's contact number was entered, StoreYug automatically launches WhatsApp in a new tab with a pre-filled greeting message containing the receipt number, grand total, and a direct digital invoice link. The cashier simply clicks Send in WhatsApp.
8. Access Bills in Sales History: Store owners can access any past bill at any time by visiting Sales History. You can view the full bill breakdown, download a PDF, or print on standard A4 paper whenever needed.
