How do I configure UPI payment IDs and GST tax details?

Overview

StoreYug enables frictionless digital commerce by allowing customers to pay you directly via UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM) with zero payment gateway processing deductions, while keeping your business compliant with GST regulations.

Step-by-Step: Configuring Billing & Tax

  1. Navigate to Store Settings > Billing & Tax tab.
  2. Configure the two sections: Payments & Billing and Tax Information.

1. Direct UPI Payment Setup

StoreYug routes customer payments straight into your existing bank account without holding any funds:

  • UPI ID: Enter your active UPI payment address (e.g. storename@okhdfcbank, merchant@icici, or business@paytm).
  • UPI Registered Name: Enter the official account holder or business name registered with your bank.
    • Why this matters: This name is displayed inside banking apps when customers scan the payment QR code on their bill.

2. Tax Type & GSTIN Configuration

If your business is registered under India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) system:

  • Tax Type: Select your applicable category from the dropdown (e.g. GST Registered, Composition Scheme, or None / Not Applicable).
  • Tax ID / GSTIN: Mandatory when a tax type is selected.
    • Enter your 15-character GSTIN (for example, 22AAAAA0000A1Z5).
    • The system automatically formats lowercase letters into uppercase as you type.
ℹ️ Not GST Registered? If your business is exempt or does not collect GST, simply leave Tax Type set to None / Not Applicable and leave the Tax ID empty.
  1. Click Save Billing Settings to save your details.

How UPI QR Codes Work on Customer Invoices & Bills

StoreYug embeds a dynamic UPI payment QR code directly onto digital customer invoices and receipts:

  • Dynamic QR Code: When an order is confirmed, StoreYug generates a customized QR code encoded with your UPI ID, business name, and the order's exact total payable amount.
  • Digital Bill Display: When a customer opens their digital invoice link (received via WhatsApp upon order confirmation or in-store billing), a prominent SCAN TO PAY VIA UPI card displays the QR code along with your store's UPI handle and name.
  • One-Scan Payment: The customer scans the QR code from their mobile screen or printed receipt using Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM. The exact total is pre-filled, sending money directly to your account.
  • In-Store POS Billing: The same digital bill link shared with walk-in customers displays this QR code for fast, contactless payments.
