What is a SKU Code?
A SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is a unique alphanumeric code assigned to each distinct product variant to track inventory, process counter POS billing, and handle barcode scanning.
For example, a Black Leather Shoe in Size 9 might have a SKU like: SHOE-BLK-09.
Can I Set It Manually?
Yes! StoreYug gives you complete flexibility:
- Custom SKU: If you already have existing barcode stickers, manufacturer codes, or an internal coding system, you can type your exact SKU code into the SKU Code field.
- Auto-Generated SKU: If you leave the SKU field blank, StoreYug automatically generates a clean, unique SKU for that variant.
Using SKUs with Barcode Scanners
StoreYug's in-store POS billing system integrates seamlessly with standard handheld USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners. When you enter an item's printed barcode number as its SKU, you can simply scan the item at your checkout counter to add it to an order instantly!
