How do I add a new product?

Overview

Adding products to your StoreYug catalog is fast and structured. Products serve as the parent master item for your store, defining your merchandise type, name, category, pricing, tax compliance, and description.

💡 Key Workflow: In StoreYug, the Product Master Type is the very first field you choose. It intelligently unlocks the exact variant attributes (such as Size, Color, or Weight) needed for your specific merchandise!

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open Products Dashboard: From your StoreYug seller sidebar, click on Products.
  2. Click "+ Add Product": Click the primary + Add Product button in the top right corner to open the creation drawer.
  3. Select Product Master Type: Click the Product Master Type searchable dropdown and choose the type that matches your merchandise (e.g. Clothing/Shirts, Footwear, Grocery, Electronics, or Personal Care). This automatically configures which variant attributes (size, color, weight) and specification templates are loaded.
  4. Enter Product Master Title: Type a clear, customer-friendly title under "What are you selling?" (e.g., Men's Slim Fit Cotton Shirt).
  5. Set Default Price & Discount (for Variants): Enter the regular retail selling price (MRP) and any default discount (e.g. ₹50). Why is this called "Default"? Because when you later create variants (e.g. Size M, L, XL), these values are automatically pre-filled for you so you don't have to re-type pricing every single time! If a specific variant costs more or less, you can easily adjust it during variant creation. StoreYug also displays your Default Base, Tax, and Total calculations in real-time.
  6. Tax Rate & HSN/SAC Code (Optional): If your store has GST enabled, select your tax slab (0%, 5%, 12%, 18%, or 28%) and input your 4 to 8 digit HSN/SAC code for invoice compliance.
  7. Select Category (Optional): Choose an internal store category (e.g. Casual Wear, Summer Sale) to organize your catalog.
  8. Add Description (Optional): Enter details, highlights, fabric, or warranty details for your buyers.
  9. Complete Dynamic Attributes: If your selected Product Type includes specific attribute fields (like Brand or Material), fill them in under the attributes container.
  10. Active Product Switch & Save: Make sure the Active Product Master switch is turned ON, then click Save Product.

What Next?

Once your product master is saved, open its Variants tab to add specific sizes, colors, and upload your high-resolution product photos.
