How do I view the stock movement history for a variant?

Why Review Stock History?

Whenever you need to investigate why stock is lower than expected, check when a supplier shipment was entered, or verify whether an order deducted correctly, you can open the Stock History Drawer.

How to Open the History Drawer

  1. Open Inventory from your sidebar and click on the product master.
  2. On the variant card, click the History button (clock/ledger icon).
  3. A slide-out drawer appears on the right side showing the complete, chronological audit trail for this specific variant.

Reading a History Entry

Each movement entry in the history drawer displays clear, color-coded details:

  • Movement Type & Icon:
    • Stock In (Green arrow down): New purchase or production added.
    • Sale Out (Red arrow up): Auto-deducted when an order was placed.
    • Order Cancelled / Return (Purple undo): Units returned to stock.
    • Adjustment (Amber sliders): Manual correction or damage write-off.
  • Quantity Change: Highlighted in bold green (e.g. +20) or red (e.g. -2).
  • Stock Progression Badge: Shows the exact before-and-after count (e.g. Stock 14 → 12).
  • Order Reference Link: If the change was triggered by a sale or cancellation, the customer's Order #Receipt is shown for quick reference.
  • Cost & Batch Value: Displays the cost per unit and total batch value associated with that movement.
  • Timestamp: Date and exact time when the transaction took place.
💡 Audit Tip: The history drawer supports smooth scrolling for variants with extensive transaction histories, letting you trace stock movements back to day one.
