How do I set low stock alerts and thresholds?

Why Set Low Stock Alerts?

Running out of your best-selling items means lost sales and disappointed customers. StoreYug includes an intelligent early-warning alert system that notifies you before a product completely runs out of stock.

Because every product sells at a different velocity, you can customize the minimum safety threshold individually for each variant.

How to Configure the Low Stock Threshold

  1. Open Inventory from your sidebar and select your product.
  2. Locate the variant you want to configure and click the Settings button (gear icon).
  3. In the settings modal, look for the Low Stock Alert Threshold field.
  4. Enter Your Minimum Quantity: The default is 5. For fast-moving staples (like bread, milk, or basic tees), set 15 or 20 for ample reorder time. For high-value or slow-moving items (like luxury watches or suits), set 1 or 2.
  5. Click Save Settings.

What Happens When Stock Runs Low?

  • Amber Status Badge: In your inventory list, the variant badge immediately turns into an amber Low Stock warning with the remaining count.
  • Dashboard Quick Filter: You can click the Low Stock filter at the top of your inventory dashboard to instantly see all items that need replenishment.
  • Automated Notifications: When a confirmed order drops your stock to or below the threshold, StoreYug automatically sends an alert notification to the store owner.
💡 Pro Tip: Periodically review your Low Stock filter at the start of each week to prepare your supplier purchase orders ahead of peak shopping weekends.
