How do product limits and plan downgrades work?

Overview

Each StoreYug subscription tier includes a maximum product capacity designed to suit different sizes of retail operations. When adjusting your plan, StoreYug incorporates safeguards to ensure your catalog data is never altered without your explicit direction.

Catalog Capacity Per Tier

  • Starter Plan: Up to 50 active products
  • Growth Plan: Up to 500 active products
  • Pro Plan: Up to 5,000 active products
📦 What Counts as a Product: Only active, published products in your catalog count toward your plan limit. Deleted items do not count.

The Downgrade Protection Guard

Suppose you are currently on the Growth Plan with 120 products in your store, and you wish to switch to the Starter Plan (which has a 50-product capacity).

How StoreYug Protects Your Data

Many systems might automatically delete your excess products or arbitrarily unpublish them. StoreYug never does this. Instead, our Downgrade Protection Guard safeguards your inventory:

  1. When you select the lower tier on the pricing page, StoreYug calculates your current active product count against the target plan's capacity.
  2. If your active products exceed the limit, the plan switch is safely paused.
  3. An informative message displays on your screen:
"You currently have 120 products. You must delete 70 products to fit the Starter Plan limit (50) before you can subscribe."

How to Proceed with a Downgrade

  1. Navigate to Products in your merchant dashboard.
  2. Review your catalog and delete or archive outdated, out-of-stock, or seasonal items until your active count is within the target limit.
  3. Return to the Pricing page and select your desired plan.
  4. Because your product count is now within the allowed limit, the order is created smoothly and you can proceed directly to checkout.
