How do I reset my password if I forgot it?

Overview

If you have forgotten your account password or are unable to sign in to your seller dashboard, StoreYug provides an automated, self-service password recovery workflow. You can reset your password securely in three simple steps using an email verification code.

The 3-Step Password Recovery Process

Step 1: Request a Reset Code

  1. Open the StoreYug login screen.
  2. Click the Forgot password? link located directly beneath the password field.
  3. In the Email Address field, enter the email address registered with your StoreYug account.
  4. Click the Send OTP button.
🔒 Privacy & Anti-Enumeration Protection: To prevent malicious actors from checking whether specific email addresses have registered stores on StoreYug, the recovery screen displays the same generic confirmation message: "If that email is registered, you'll receive an OTP shortly. Check your inbox."

Step 2: Enter the Verification OTP

  1. Check your email inbox for an email from StoreYug with the subject "Reset your password - StoreYug".
  2. Copy the 6-digit verification code. The code remains valid for 5 minutes.
  3. On the Verify OTP page, enter the 6 digits into the OTP input field.
  4. Click Verify OTP.

Note: If you do not receive the email within a couple of minutes, check your Spam or Promotions folder. You can request a new code after the 2-minute cooldown timer expires (up to 3 resends are permitted). If you typed the wrong address, click "Wrong email? Start over". Submitting incorrect codes 5 times will cancel the session for security.

Step 3: Choose Your New Password

  1. Once your verification code is confirmed, the Reset Password screen will load.
  2. Enter your desired new password in the New Password field (minimum 8 characters). An eye toggle icon, 4-bar strength meter, and 5-point requirements checklist help you craft a strong password.
  3. Retype the password in the Confirm Password field to verify accuracy.
  4. Click Reset Password.

Post-Reset Confirmation & Login

After clicking Reset Password:

  • Your account credentials update immediately in the secure database.
  • A confirmation security notice is dispatched to your email address confirming that your password was successfully changed.
  • You are redirected back to the login page with a green success message: "Your password has been reset successfully! Please log in with your new password."
  • You can now sign in using your new credentials.
