Overview
Maintaining a strong, unique password is one of the most effective ways to protect your business data and sales catalog. StoreYug includes a dedicated in-session password management tool with real-time strength evaluation, visual requirement checklists, and password visibility toggles.
How to Change Your Password
- Navigate to My Profile by clicking your avatar in the top navbar (or via the mobile account menu).
- On the right side of the profile screen, locate the Security card.
- Click the Change Password button (key icon).
- The Change Password modal will open. Complete the three password fields:
- Current Password: Enter your existing password to confirm your identity. You can click the eye icon to verify what you typed.
- New Password: Enter your desired new password. As you type, the interactive strength meter evaluates your password. You can also toggle the eye icon to inspect your input.
- Confirm New Password: Retype the new password. A real-time match indicator confirms whether both fields match identically.
- Click Update Password.
Interactive Password Strength Meter
When you enter a new password, StoreYug's real-time security validator displays a 4-bar strength meter and a live 5-point checklist:
| Strength Level | Meter Appearance | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Weak | 1 Red Bar | Contains fewer than 8 characters or only simple lowercase letters. Unsafe for store administration. |
| Fair | 2 Orange Bars | Meets length requirements but lacks diverse characters. Needs numbers or uppercase letters. |
| Good | 3 Yellow Bars | Good complexity combining letters and numbers. Suitable for day-to-day use. |
| Strong | 4 Green Bars | Optimal security combining uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special symbols. Highly recommended. |
The 5 Security Requirements Checklist
To ensure maximum defense against credential attacks, your new password should satisfy the following criteria (each turns green with a checkmark as you type):
- Length: At least 8 characters long.
- Uppercase: At least one uppercase letter (A–Z).
- Lowercase: At least one lowercase letter (a–z).
- Number: At least one numeric digit (0–9).
- Special Symbol: At least one special symbol (such as
!@#$%^&*).
Security Alert Notification
Immediately upon updating your password, a security confirmation alert is recorded in your dashboard notification tray and an email alert is sent to your registered address confirming the exact timestamp of the change.
